Foxy Foxglove Mug – Foxgloves are fairies hats, and gloves for foxes …have both positive and negative connotations. They are said to both heal and hurt, and in the language of flowers, they are often associated with insincerity. In folklore, it was said that picking a foxglove would offend fairies. Probably, this was a story told to small children to prevent them from picking and eating the plant. The scientific name for foxglove is “digitalis.” This name is a direct reference to the powerful chemicals in the plant that, when taken correctly, can heal and resolve many heart conditions – but when taken in excess, can be deadly.
An ancient plant – “Gleow” in Anglo Saxon, in magical folklore it is also said that a ring of bells protects the fox from hunters and hounds.
11oz mug, both dishwasher and microwave safe, though these may cause it to fade.
