Copper and Bronze Hammered Necklace

£35.00

Copper and Bronze Hammered Necklace, handcrafted by Lee Allin of Handcrafted Symbolic Jewellery UK. Every part of this necklace is completely handcrafted including every link and the clasp, the natural patina of this necklace is also wonderful.

Lee Allin sadly no longer makes jewellery, this item is completely unique and one of a kind; and hangs beautifully when worn.

The central shape of the triangle on the pendant can be seen to symbolise a trinity – of which there are many versions: the holy trinity of Christianity; Maiden, Mother and Crone of pagan and wiccan faiths; mind, body and spirit; the moon – waning, waxing and full; past, present and future; thoughts, feelings and emotions; creation, preservation and destruction; birth, life and death.

The triangle is incorporated into many other symbols – the Christian “Eye of Providence”, also known as the All-seeing Eye, or the Druid Three Rays/ Awen.  This depicts an eye inside a triangle, often surround by rays of light.  The Celts used the triangle in the form of the triquetra and other trinity based knot work.  The Greeks saw the triangle as the delta glyph, a symbolic doorway brought into being by the combination of polarities of the triangle; and that by balancing thought and emotions a doorway to higher wisdom would open – for Pythagoras was a Philosopher as well as a Mathematician and his translated works make a fascinating read.

There is also mysticism to the number three – the number of sides of a triangle.
